A black piggy bank surrounded by coins that says funeral on it

Question: Why at my age (45) should I buy a Funeral Plan?

Answer: Why not?

Debbie Hughes (Clydebank Funeral)

I have put a lot of thought into the idea of a Funeral Plan for myself and in my honest opinion I can say that I can only come up with  positive aspects, such as:

My funeral would be carried out by my chosen Funeral Directors, one which I trust.  At the time of need my family wouldn’t need to worry about what my funeral wishes were as all details would be covered in the plan, right down to the minor ones such as which songs I would want played and how I wished to be dressed.

The price that I paid  when I purchased the plan is guaranteed to cover the cost of my funeral, my family would not have to use their own money to pay for it and there are various payment options available.

There is no upper age or health restrictions, so anyone can take one out and having looked into insurance policies, I have found that a lot of these policies don’t cover the basic costs of a funeral.

Working in the funeral industry, I have seen first-hand the benefits that having a funeral plan in place has given  to grieving families, and how the costs of a funeral has risen over the years.
