Two Black Hearse Cars

Unusual Funeral Vehicles

When we think of a funeral vehicle we think of the traditional hearse with a number of cars following closely behind. With funerals becoming more personalised and less traditional, so does the transportation. Choosing a unique and unusual vehicle, funeral directors are having to accommodate more and more with these requests. A sleek back limo is not the only way to travel to your final send off. From steam rollers and milk floats to Del Boy’s van and motorcycle hearse’s, we have selected a few below!

Scooby Doo Mystery Machine

The Mystery Machine is the main transportation of Mystery Inc, taking the gang on adventures all over the world. The gang consists of Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and of course Scooby-Doo. There is no better send off for a Scooby-Doo fan. The colours might not be to everyone’s taste however it represents just how personalised funerals are becoming.

Army Tank

Wanting their final journey to be in a refurbished army tank, these are becoming more popular for deceased veterans or military enthusiasts alike. Second hand models are popular with enthusiasts due to their low cost, compared to other military vehicles. There are companies that specialize in converting army tanks into suitable hearses – some which have seen service in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Tandem Bike Hearse

If the environment meant a lot to the deceased or they loved bikes, this seems to be the appropriate hearse choice for them. Converted tandem bikes, fitted with a side-car to carry the coffin have been used more prominently over the years.

Monster Truck Hearse

The Monster Truck Hearse is another surprisingly popular choice in the USA. It is being seen as a mighty send off for Monster Truck fanatics. Mechanics take pride in converting space on the Monster Truck to be more hearse-like.

With personalised funeral vehicles becoming more popular than ever, these are just a few of the most unusual funeral vehicles that are out there today. It gives spectators a view into your world – putting your personal stamp on proceedings.

Your guide to choosing the right funeral plan

The option to plan and arrange your own funeral has recently become a favoured choice. Most funeral directors now offer different funeral plans which each include a range of different services. But with so many packages and plans available, choosing the right one for you can become stressful and daunting. So we’ve created this small guide to help you choose the best plan for you.

What is a funeral plan?

A funeral plan is a specialised investment product that allows you to pre-arrange and/or pre-pay a funeral. While planning your own funeral may sound a bit morbid, there are some benefits of having a funeral plan in place. These include having the burial/cremation costs frozen at today’s prices, a lesser financial worry for your family at the time of need and your wishes carried out as you request.

Financing available

Nowadays financing options are available with most plans. This means that the cost can be spread out over a period of time, up to 3 years, if needed. At Clydebank
Co-operative Funeral Directors, we offer financing for all our funeral plans.

Peace of mind

Funeral plans can certainly offer peace of mind, knowing that you have arrangements made in advance. And, if you’re able to pay for it up front, you’ll also have peace of mind knowing that it’s all paid for your family won’t be left to pay it off either, with the exception of costs that we do not control i.e. Humanist or Celebrant fees/Intimation notices/flowers/catering.

Personalised

Your funeral plan allows you to choose exactly how you want your funeral to be. A lot of people don’t want their funerals to be sad, but rather an inspiring celebration of life. A plan would allow you make it like this, making it more comforting for the bereaved too.
